The definition of the word detour is a long or roundabout route taken to avoid something.
In the physical world, when we travel along a familiar road, we may come across construction and see a sign that says detour. This means that we need to use an unexpected, at times unpaved, and unfamiliar route. Having to leave a known route is usually annoying and inconvenient! We feel like we are not moving fast enough, or it seems like we are going the wrong way. We may be upset and wonder why the road is even being repaired in the first place.
When trials and difficulties disrupt the normal course of our lives, it feels like we face the same detour sign in the spiritual realm. When we encounter things like illness, job loss, loss of a relationship, and uncertainty of vision for our lives, etc. it can seem like we are not moving in the right direction, or that we have been slowed down.
Detours are real, very uncomfortable, and usually unexpected, but they do not last forever. They are intended to bypass something, and at the end of every detour, one will always find themselves on the right path.
Remember, the detour is just for a short while. God is faithful to bring us out of any and every situation. The take-home point for today is to be patient, look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith - Hebrews 12:2.
While we are patiently waiting, we are flexing our spiritual muscles to adapt to trusting God in a new and more sustainable way.
So, detours are not really bad. They are good for us because we learn to trust HIM again and again.

CPM - Philippians 3:10
As God created all things - the heavens, the earth, you, and me, likewise you should create your world around you.
This week, be careful to call into existence what you desire and what God said is yours.
Create your miracle, not death.
Most often, we call into existence what the pressures of life present (unsound mind, sickness, difficulties, etc)
You are the prophet of your life, so start prophesying what God said over your body, mind, family, and finances.
